I know using maximum ability isn't guaranteed but I've done it a lot and usually have a good sense of when it will work
This foal's parents are both A/Blue papered from B/red papered parents and she tested blue papered and superior to dam but after maxing still failed SBA :-((

I unaltered and tried BA and she still failed

What's weird is that instead of the usual message about Sire or Dam producing better, the message was "the of this foal can produce better offspring"
The lack of either parent being identified was what made me wonder about a glitch

Or is there really SO much variation in A/Blue papers that a foal can not pass in this situation?
