Here is an example of what I am seeing in my Strawberry Moon Rank Specials. When I go into the lab, I see there is no Lp, but there is Vrn. If I understand you correctly, the Vrn will not work because there is no Lp? And I'm not sure why the Vrn doesn't show in the list of genes under the horse's picture.

Varnish PROMOTER is the name of the gene. It makes a horse varnish faster. Varnish promoter has nothing to promote if you don't have appaloosa. LP is the gene that turns varnish on and off.

Pangare doesn't progress with age, but it is more prominent with two copies than with one. It lightens the muzzle, flank, and lower legs. It doesn't show on black pigment (except pangare+) only red pigment. It shows on both chestnuts and bays, but it's more visible on chestnuts because the black on the bays legs won't let it show there. It's also more distinct on darker coats. Liver chestnuts with hom pangare are very obvious.
