Breeding question

This colt is the product of two maxed horses. Out of 30 mares in this pasture, only 4 had foals that passed sba, but not one of them is better than its parents. Am I doing something wrong? -
Maxing a horse takes it to the best possible limit for that cross. The horses after maxing still have the same range of breeding as all the horses do. Let's say our range is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7, with 4 being the mid range 6 and 7 of course being high range. Each time you breed your horses they may fall on any number in that sequence. Where they fall is a roll of the dice. When they fall on 1 or 2, they fail BA; 3 4 and 5 they pass SBA, but may only test "about as good as" their parents with 5 being a higher paper level but still only "about as good as"; 6 and 7 will paper higher and test superior with 7 being the max the cross can produce. These are random numbers used to explain and are not what the game uses. ;)

I get that, @bluchrystals, but is there a glass ceiling for some maxed horses to not be able to produce better than they are, not including cap horses?

"s there a glass ceiling for some maxed horses to not be able to produce better than they are"
No not at all.
The higher you go in breeding ability the harder it gets to go up in ability just like in real life.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

No, but it does get really hard to produce a foal better than their parents at one point, before you reach the breeding cap

Thanks all!
