Purchasing Genes on Sale
  • Hello everyone:
I wanted to know if there was a way to purchase genes that are currently on sale if a horse doesn't currently have them... that seems to be the whole point. For example, when I try to make a horse a double from a single copy of the Mushroom gene, I get the following message:

Your horse has the - allele for this Mushroom gene.
No edits are available for this gene

I haven't done this before... is there a way to get around this? If a horse doesn't have the gene you're trying to buy, it doesn't seem like there's any point if you can't purchase it because the horse has a - allele.

    Thanks.
  • Do you have a link to the horse in question? The gene sale only works on foundation horses with no foals. If a horse is a foal from two parents, you can’t “purchase” new genes but you can “add” a gene a horse missed.
For example, both parents have the splash gene, but the foal did not get it. You could “add” that gene but only that gene.

Hopefully that makes sense & clarifies things! :)

P.s. I’m not sure if you’re trying to buy a gene with game GMT tokens or from the game’s purchase page with paypal. This above note I made is purchasing genes with GMT tokens with in game hbs

  • Thanks very much; I think that's what the problem is. I'll maybe try with foundation ones to see if that works. I was trying to use GMT tokens, so that's helpful.
  • Just wana throw in a small correction: There is no age limit to GMTing anymore. They just have to be unbred (eggs and straws pulled does not count - unless you want to change the gender).

  • If you sell the foals back to the game, can you then gmt them?
