Why do eras matter? => Answered
-
I know how for futurites you want certain era mares for a certain era stud. But why else do they matter? Are there eras in real life? What does having the stud and mare the same era do for the foal, does it show better? Does it breed better?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2024-02-05 20:32:14

It's so we can have a fair leaderboard competition based on when a line was started. If you have missed the era LBs you have missed a huge part of the game. :)Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

What do you mean "when a line was started?"
And is this why you join clubs?
Do I win a prize if I ever type a post that doesn't have to be edited for typos lol?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2024-02-03 22:00:20 -
It's because, when you start a line with foundations and you're breeding generation after generation to reach cap quality, that takes a long time. So if you had to play for RL months or even years to place on the color LB, it would be discouraging. That's why there are era leaderboards, because a new era starts every six months, new players are always able to start new lines and breed in that era only to progress towards cap quality and have an advantage in that particular era club over breeders that are breeding older eras, because their older lines aren't eligible for the newer era clubs. So every six months, new players have a chance at winning ribbons right away and continually as their lines progress, without having to invest and wait for months and months for their horses to start placing in the color leaderboards.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Not just new members. Everyone has a chance to compete in the new era with a fresh new crop of foundations.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ah, thank you. That makes a lot of sense to me.
Do I need to join clubs to do this?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2024-02-04 14:48:22 -
You just add the horses to the clubs they are eligible for in the "Breeders Clubs"Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

So in order to compete for the eras I need to enter in clubs?
-
You need to enter horses into the era clubs that you want to compete in.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Okay, I entered the horses in their eras and some in the color clubs. But, it says you can only enter a horse in 4 clubs. How do you know how many clubs a horse is in, or do they automatically not let you enter more than 4 clubs?
-
You just can't put them in more than 4 the game won't let youThanked by 1OopsDotCom

Phew, okay, thank you. The thought of having to look at every horse one by one was overwhelming.
-
Thank you everyone for the information and help. I'm going to close this topic now.

Just a reminder that people are allowed to keep talking about a post even if you feel like you are done with it. The only posts you can "close" are things like sales where the horse is no longer for sale. It's a public forum so people are allowed to keep posting.Post edited by Ammit at 2024-02-04 23:36:53Need to contact me? Read this first.

Okay, thanks. That's a good point. I'll change the title.
-
Also @OopsDotCom, the clubs the horse is entered in , is on the first page of the horse where the picture is below the PT Test score.
-
Also, oops, you can enter hundreds of horses into a club at once with the handy pull down list

Thank you Anni, thank you Fiddler
