Some Questions :)
-
Hey all, I just have some questions being that i'm a newbie... I have scoured through the Help section but I did not see any answers... Sorry if this is redundant...
1) Varnish... How does this 'show' on a horse? Do they grey out? I'm so confused on this one for some reason :(
2) What are the mare Paper levels? Stallion is C B A *Star, little fuzzy on the girls. Also what affects the paper level for mares, I understand it can change over time where as Stallion papering does not.
3) Pattern on solid horses - say bay. Is this just redundant of say if you have a bay dun it affects how much 'dun striping' horse has? Hope this makes sense...
Thank you all so much in advance for any light you may shed!

1) As a horse get's older they get more and more varnish roaning.
2) Yellow, Red, Blue, Gold for mares. It's based on her foals.
3) Bay and Bay dun and different colors caused by different genes.

Thanks Ammit! I have a few Varnish horses so im curious to see how they roan out over the years. I'm assuming its different from roan's? :)
With the PATN (sorry I was assuming that stood for Pattern..?) on a solid horse say http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3285853 who has Large PATN it really doesn't affect a horses visible color?
:bz Thanks!**Breeding Quality White 8 Sport Ponies** -
PATN is actually an appaloosa gene and is only relevant to them :) And yep varnish is different from roan.Need to contact me? Read this first.
