Returning After 4 Years
-
Hi there!
It's been about 4 years since I gave away everything and stopped playing since I was too busy with work and school.
That being said, I want to get back into it but I'm having trouble remembering everything and could use some help.
1. Points... help me understand those again. The foundations I make have a lot of points because I'm under the threshold of 20,000 (I think?). Points are important because.... hbs? I'm not sure since I have returned and had over 5 million hbs (now 4.8 since I've been spending).
2. Breeding... I remember I liked drafts and I'll stick with that. I remember how eras work and I'm wanting to focus on 16/17 since I'm just starting out again.
3. Age... horses age up 1 year in game for every one month in real life, correct?
4. Barns/Pastures... I have the primary barn (81), 2nd barn (90), 3rd barn (60), 4th barn (60), and 5th barn (90). I have the primary pasture (60), a 2nd pasture (30), and a 3rd pasture (10). I need help deciding what to do with these. Do I decide on a few good studs and throw a bunch of mares with them in a pasture? I suppose that seems a bit boring to me, but I never remember the game being boring so I must be forgetting something. I've already put poor breeding but high point horses in a "working" barn which I had previously labelled 4 years ago. I presume I named it that to put horses that would earn money but not breed.
5. Getting More Horses... I only have a few. I have plenty of hbs, should I just keep finding good herd helpers that I like and make more and more horses? I have under 20 now.
Anything else? I've gone through the FAQs and all that but I think my questions extend just past where those end.
Thank you! -
I suggest you buy a 1000 horse barn if you can afford it. And keep your high pointed horses. The answer to a steady income is having lots of show horses.
So buy lots
You seem to remember everything well.
Ask and people will help you with stuff.

Yes, I only made the mistake once to put one up for auction. You don't think I should have the high pointed horses bred in pasture first? Or do you mean afterwards to put them in a large barn?
Thanks! -
If you have horses you really want to breed, sure, put them in the pasture,
But you'll have plenty of time to breed. What you need is some show horses, because your income is so low -
Have you done all your achievement tasks?
I just put you in my chat room, I want to give you some show horses. Click on the horses listed at the bottom of the chat and buy them.
You'll notice they make your daily bonus go up.Post edited by Fiddler at 2024-07-25 05:55:14 -
Thank you!

In the meantime should I keep creating foundation horses with points?

When you put horses in pastures, they train, but they don't show. Keeping them in a barn, they show, which in turn brings more income. You kinda have to decide which to put in pastures and which to keep in barns. But you can always change your mind and put some in and take some out.Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2024-07-29 00:50:04

And yes points are important because of hb. the higher the points, the higher the hb.

They train but not show.Need to contact me? Read this first.

you can definately put them in the pasture to gain a pasture bonus. that will help them breed better foals. but just like ammit said, they will only train but not show. you will never increase in show income that way
i always will take my pasture horses out and show them, then put them bac. i can get the best that way.
i would keep everything you create right now. even if they are show ponies. show ponies are your friend and bread and butter.

Thank you everyone for refreshing my memory!
