What are these cool speckles?

I created these mares as money makers and they both have these really cool speckles on them but neither are roan. I've never seen anything quite like it before. Do you think it is part of their appy pattern? Their foals are both roan so I can't tell if they inherited it.

Is it varnish finally showing? I just rerolled one of my varnish appys and saw the same speckles.

Yep, that is Varnish. It wasn't working for a bit, but Ellie was able to get in and fix it a few days ago and now it's BACK! :DImation Stud ID# 2609
