Horse Height

Just curious if anyone has a lot of there herd that is showing as over 16.0 hh? I have one mare that is 16.1 and another spayed mare that is 16.3. Anyone seeing any of there horses hit 17.0 or more?

Ammit just added heights to the game last week. So any horses born or created before then defaulted to 14 hands or 16 hands depending upon whether they are a pony or warmblood.
Ammit stated it possible to breed warmbloods over 17 hands and I've heard of a couple being born from crosses with at least one parent 16.1 hands or taller. I don't think it's possible to get a 17 hand horse from a 16 hand x 16 hand (or less) cross, from what I've seen. The 17+ hand horses won't look any bigger in their image than a 16.3 hand horse, as they just don't fit, but it's possible to breed them. We don't for sure know the minimum and maximum heights possible in the game, though it was mentioned we can breed ponies down to 12 hands.
Horses bred or created since heights were implemented can have a range of heights, though heights of lined horses are based upon those of their parents. If you want to breed 17+ hand Warmbloods, I suggest using the create a horse page to create some Warmbloods that are 16.1+ hands and breeding them together. Those will likely give you the best odds of breeding on the larger end.Imation Stud ID# 2609

Cool, thanks for the info Raina! Like I said I already have a couple of taller mares, was just curious. I don't always catch all the discussions the first time around :)

Some of the discussion has taken place on the game's Facebook group too. If you aren't already a member there, here is the link. I suggest following it and the forum regularly.

I just got this colt and couldn't resist showing him off. He's the first 17 hand horse I've gotten!

@CLynnRose Wowzers is a great name for him. He certainly does fill up the image frame, doesn't he. He's gorgeous! I hope he passes his testing.
-
@CLynnRose I LOVE silver black!!!! Let me know how his testing goes...might be interested in breeding to him...
-
Poor guy looks cramped in that little frame. He's gorgeous :)

Wowzers made it through testing! I was almost afraid to click the test button, I might have winced a little bit.

Congratulations!
I've had horses that have caused that reaction. Once upon a time I bred a spontaneous brindle colt, and held my breath. It didn't do any good, since he ended up a gelding, but it was still a remarkable event in my HAJ career. -
@lomcdev I would be glad to let you breed to him! I hope he turns out to be a good producer. I suppose I won't find out until November... unless I can paper him before that :)
@SandyCreek Acres what a shame about your brindle! At least its cool you got one. That's pretty amazing. -
@CLynnRose I think you can paper them as foals? I have always papered my foals. It doesn't change over time for studs like it does for mares.
-
Oh, sure. I'm sure you can, I just meant I'm not upgraded yet.
-
Stallions can be papered as foals because their papering is based off of their stats. Mares have to have three living foals because their papering is based off their foal's stats.
-
Ok so what's the shortest everyone has got?
I've got this mare who is 13.2hh, and will be looking for a 13.2hh or below stallion as I really like the ponies!

Just got my first 17.0 hh foal! Check her out!
-
Wow! She's beautiful! Congratulations!
-
@CLynnRose thanks! Of course she tested as showable only. Whomp whomp....Oh well, still a great looking lady!
-
@lomcdev Oh, that's too bad. Still, like you say, she is great to look at! I got another 17 hand foal the other day. I'm looking forward to breeding her to Wowzers and see what happens. http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3435232
