"Cheapest" way to max white?
-
I'm planning on getting Rainbow Riot Paintbrush Prism.
I think I like it best on an all white horse, or alternatively, on a black horse.
I usually avoid heavy white like the plague, so I'm not very familiar with the cheapest GMT way to get there.
One option could be to do black with grey so I slowly get the best of both worlds, but it seems like the ones I saw grey quite slowly.
12 year old still pretty dark:

I could also be convinced to do something in this vein with the white being phantom related.
Essentially, please help me with some ideas so I can make up my mind!Post edited by lecobb8 at 2024-10-14 12:39:10 -
Adding W20 and Splash will get you whiter fasterPost edited by annismyrph at 2024-10-14 12:54:51Thanked by 1lecobb8

Hom champ hom cream will look white. I do that on my void horses because it's cheaper than a chinchilla chestnut.
Edit: Just make sure they don't have sty, gray, or DP either because that will darken them again.
Here's some examples of what to look for:

Good call, then I could find an all washed up herd helper.

If you want to go the gray route, I used to have a Gray Black line to imitate Lipizzaners. There is some variability in graying rates, but if they were hom gray, they typically went completely white by the time they were 12y/o, some even between 8 and 10y/o. The horse you linked above is only het gray, so that does dramatically reduce the graying rate.
For a fast graying gray black line, I would do E/E a/a G/G. That will give you the darkest black and the fastest gray rate.
Examples
7y/o:
4G GB Silver Narrative
10y/o:
3G GB Tips of Silver
10y/o:
3G GB Surfin Thru Ash
12y/o:
3G GB Silver Magnificence
6y/o:
4G GB Elegant Duchess
6y/o:
4G GB Silver to Ash
4y/o:
Productive Before
Foal:

If you'd prefer to keep the darkest black, you could remove one copy of gray and add in hom gray reduction. Hom gray + hom gr slows the gray rate some, but hom gr is far more effective when combined with only one copy of gray.
Examples
E/E a/a G/- gr/- 10y/o:
Visions 2G Responsibility Love
E/E a/a G/- gr/- 16y/o:
2A GR Slow Man
E/E a/a G/- gr/gr 3y/o:

E/E a/a G/- gr/gr 15y/o:

Thanks Mack! I've done a good bit of grey reduction in my lines, but never tried to do a fast greying. I didn't realize that hom grey would make it happen faster.
I swear, just when I think I've been on this game for years and know most of the "color rules" I learn 10 new things!Thanked by 1MackZ -

Rank Special: Champagne Fizzy
It's like tasting stars! All horses will be a sparking intoxication of clear Gold Champagne Creams with fizzy bubbles from the white gene. Refreshing! -
I was having trouble creating exactly what I wanted, but I found this horse Mack made in the search that only took a few GMT's to swap around. Bonus - I don't have this breed character, and the beautiful hair is perfect to showcase it!
