Breeding question
-
When are the breeding times? I seem to have only been able to breed once in this game and my horses are now 7-10 years old. Is it a very small window to have it done. If my horses are just going to be able to show and grow old with no replacements then Im loosing interests in this game, by not being able to do anything else with them.

Breeding season starts at the beginning of each new game year, in January, March, May, July, September and November. It lasts through the 27th of the second month of the game year, with the exception of a few days at the end of the first month, I believe, which is a hold-over from when the breeding season ended on the 28th of the first month.
Mares can only have one foal during each breeding season, unless you are upgraded enough to be able to pull eggs and make embryos. Stallions can be bred live cover 50 times each game year. Straws don't count toward that total.
In order to breed your horses, you have to put one of them up for public stud or brood. Most people put the stallion up for a moderate fee, if it doesn't have some special rare gene. Set a fee that you can afford. Then breed your mares from his page, unless you want to search out stallions up for public stud from other stables. Once you've set a breeding fee, a "breed to this horse" button appears at the bottom of its info tab.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions about breeding. The season is really quite long, which is good for those of us who have thousands of horses in our stables, but if you only have a few, the breeding seasons can seem rather far apart. You need to keep some of your foals so that your herd increases. More horses equals more shows that can be entered, which equals more show points gathered and a larger showing bonus each week. -

You may want to try HJ2. Its more designed for new members. Breeding happens every month and you earn money faster plus it is much easier to get on the LB.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Tiger87kk: They are a lot alike, but here are some differences:
1. In HaJ1, the game year lasts two months, starting in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
In HaJ2, a new game year starts each month.
2. HaJ1 has exceptional breeders and exceptional showers. HaJ2 does not. Consequently, in HaJ1, you can buy boost tokens to make your horses better breeders, but this is not available in HaJ2.
3. The Showing Bonus in HaH1 is currently 50% of the total points your horses have gathered. In HaJ2 it is 75% because the shorter game year gives only half the weeks of training for the horses and they level off at lower levels, reducing the number of points they are able to gain and the amount the showing bonus can reach.
4. Because it has a smaller player base, HaJ2 is sometimes used as a beta test platform for new game features. However, the upgrades to the images are released first here in HaJ1, quickly followed by HaJ2 when they are done or a certain stage in completion has been reached.
Basic game play--breeding and showing, color genetics and so forth are the same in both games. At one time, the breeding season here in HaJ1 was only in the first month of the game year and did not extend into the second month. Ammit gave us an extended breeding season a couple of times, which was enthusiastically received, so she made breeding in the second month a permanent feature, reducing one of the differences between the games. -
ok thanks
