GMTing a Horse
-
I was wondering if a foundation horse (under 3 years old of course) can be GMTed to give it At?Merry Mount Farm ID# 219220
-
As long as it has not been bred, yes, if the horse in question is a stallion. Mares can't be bred until 4 so of course, girls can be GMTed.
-
ok where can I find that option in the GMT lab?Merry Mount Farm ID# 219220
-
I've not done it for At, so this may not be correct, but I think you just click on the A and then the options for At will appear on next page to choose from.
-
Starbrooke farm is correct. If you click on either of the A alleles for the horse, you will get the option to change it to the opposite (a to A, A to a), to At or to A+. (Rather than relying on my sometimes shaky memory, I just double checked that information in the GMT lab, so it is definitely correct.)
