Decisions on White markings?
-
I got this lovely guy from the RAOG and have been playing around with his genes. I LOVE how he looks right now, but I know when I breed, I usually like some kind of white markings (to keep things interesting haha)
My favorite is tobiano, but I wanted to see what others think. What white marking would you add? Or leave him as is?

My favorites are:
Hom tobiano, splash M, and belton with none WF.
Leopard appy with ASR1 (particularly neat with DFP2).
Rabicano with KP2.
Sometimes hom w20 with KP.
And sometimes I enjoy Kit M.
Sabino is also always nice.Post edited by Cavalynn at 2025-07-15 11:09:58Thanked by 1kgstable -
He’s gorgeous! I like white markings, but not too much white. I really love the look of KP2 with rabicano and W20 or W29. I’ve found it gives just enough white to be fun, but not overpowering.

With his strong dun factor markings, something like powder white could be really cool, depending on expression.

With those awesome DFP2 drips, I would probably go for:
W29 with W20 or extensive white factor
Terminal Complicated
Or
W8 with medium white factor
Dauntless Greatly
Or
W15 with large or extensive white factor

Or, if you want the white to touch/mark over some of the DFP2, Powder White would be a neat option

You could always leave him as he is, and choose crosses that might show up interesting white markings. That way, you get a surprise with each foal. :)

Thank you everyone for the ideas! Leaning towards W29 or like WhiteValley said leaving as is to cross mares :) Too many decisions! I'd love to see more ideas if anyone has them

I've always liked KitM - but it can hide the DFP markings with a lot of white. You have Belton, which should keep it limited.

LC3 Crucial
This is a favorite of mine. W3 (W29) and Kit M, minimal white. This horse was from my lines before Belton.
