We no longer have 5 upgrade levels. We now simply have free accounts, basic upgrade, and premium upgrades. The basic upgrade is the same as the former level 4 and all the features of the lower levels. The price has been dropped so that it is the same price that level 3 used to be. This is part of our efforts to make the game features more clear and accessible to new users. Premium upgrade is the same as level 5.

This price change applies to IVs as well. The upgrade for basic (level 4) is the same cost that level 3 used to be.

I have yet to decide what is fair to do with the old level 1 -3 upgrades already in the game. I am thinking I may just change all the existing level 3s into level 4s. Does that seem fair to you guys? 34 users have a level 1 or 2 as their primary level. Everyone else is level 3 or above so would not be left out.

I have always been a level 5 player on HJ1, BUT... if you give the 34 level 1-2 players a one or two month trial of the new Basic level, they may get hooked even more!

I have a level 5 now with a level 3 as my backup in case money is tight.

Do free accounts now have all of the features up to a level 3? If basic equals level 4 and premium level 5...then to me, free accounts now either have to equate to level 3 to be fair to those who paid for them, or upgraded to "basic". Maybe that is just me. LOL.

If only a handful of people are using levels 1 and 2, I'd just go ahead and bump everyone in that middle bracket up to 'basic upgrade' status. Easier to give the little bucket something extra rather than take away what little they had to begin with, ya know? (Though for the life of me I couldn't tell you what level 1 and 2 upgrades even DO for you, so there's that.)

Will I have to repay or use money to stay at what is called a level 5?

Free accounts have not changed nor do I see why they would need to. That doesn't make sense to me.

No one has lost their upgrade. Nothing had changed with prior upgrades at all. Only future purchases will be different. Basic is identical to level 4 down to the point that it is even called level 4 in the database.

Right now I am one of the handful of level 2's. :) Personally, I'm not too deep into the game (yet), so don't really want a high level upgrade with lots of features. However, I do like having access to all the papering, extra allowance, etc. that I can get with the smaller upgrade. It allows me to have a little more fun without paying for a bunch of things I may not use. Maybe levels 1-3 could be combined into a small upgrade so new players could wet their appetite a little more without making the commitment of a large upgrade? The jump from a free account to the level 4/basic is kinda big IMHO. :) But these are just my thoughts...

I did combine 1-3 into one. You pay the same price as 3.

I have bumped all the level 3 upgrades out there to level 4s. That way they get the full features of the basic upgrade. Since it is now the same price it only made sense to expand it.
