Show points?
-
How exactly do show points work? Like foals might win their classes and get like 0.5 of a point each show but it doesn't add up to anything and it just stays at 0. How do points accumulate?HJ1 ID #: 211869

Once foals age up to 2 and start training, their scores will increase and they will begin working their way up through the various levels and grades and accumulating points. As the horse works its way up through the level from local, through regional, national and world, there will be more horses in each class and so more points assigned for each placing. You can see this working if you click on the names of the most recent classes your horses have been in. The system does not seem to take notice of half points, at least for foals and yearlings.
Once your horse levels out of the World grade of a level, it starts at the local level of the next. There will be fewer horses per class, and so fewer points to distribute, but generally speaking 4L has more horses in a class than 3L had, and so forth.
A horse's point total remains with it when it is sold to someone else, and your showing bonus will be 50% of the total number of points all the horses you own have gathered through their lives. This percentage may change in the future, depending on how Ammit sees it affecting the game economy, but for the present, that percentage will probably be stable.Thanked by 1Redbud -
Okay thank you, I just didn't understand why the points didn't add up on foals/yearlings.
Like this guy has placed first in all 7 classes he's done but still shows 0 points, when he hits 2 will they show up or will it start from the shows he wins after he is 2?

Also I know a game year is 2 months of real year, but when does each year end and start?HJ1 ID #: 211869

I don't think that the foal half-points get added. It seems that the program segment that keeps track of points doesn't "see" the decimal fraction ".5". Or maybe it's only set to look at horses in training, although I've never seen a horse yet with half a point in its total.
Ammit would have the definitive answer, of course. This is just a best guess based on the evidence.
There's really not a lot of reason to show foals except for a few times to see what their starting score is and, if you're lucky, how that score may vary with consistency.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2015-08-17 03:16:59 -
