    I have some doubts that they're the owner of the Russian version of Howrse, which is who that particular image was drawn for. The artist still has it on their deviantart saying who it belongs to and that no one is allowed to use it.

    It's fun changing things up a bit with each season, so I searched Google for Free Halloween Horse Images and that was one of the pictures that popped up. I really liked it, but didn't see anything right away that led me to believe I couldn't use it. Do I have to take it down? Darn it, well put up this one now that specifically says it's for sharing so should be ok.

    You always need to have permission to use any artwork or images, even for your stable image. Not having permission could be considered copyright infringement. :)

    There are some really wonderful artists in the community, you might ask who may be willing to do a stable image for you. There is also many images, clipart and graphics that are licensed under Creative Commons that you can use to make your own stable image.
