I'm Looking For...

Era 5 Brindle, Pearl, Satin, or Sooty+ Mares and Stallions. I'd also look at any Era 5 Rank Specials available.

You're looking for very expensive horses there. People pay big money for pearls or satins, quality horses carrying those genes don't come up often, and will cost you an arm and a leg if they do. We can be talking hundreds of thousands of hbs, if not millions, depending on the gene, other genes it has, and it's quality. (Beware of a rare gene offered cheap, the horse is probably junk.)
As a smaller, newer stable, I would suggest you avoid color chasing right now - the shiny colors don't make the horses win you any more money, and you won't make back in breeding fees what they cost you to buy. And if they get overbred so they have hundreds of offspring, most people won't want to breed to them anyway.
The way to make money in this game is through your show string, the "shiny" horses are more for fun than for an investment. Going after too much bling too early on can cripple a stable financially.
