Breeding help!
-
I am a new player, and breeding confuses me...any advice?
Lion -
Keep the generations together - Foundation to foundation, 2nd generation to 2nd generation, etc.
Don't breed Frame to frame or sabino to white. You have a very high chance of a dead foal. -
Do you have any specific questions?Post edited by Sankt wendel at 2014-05-03 16:21:42

It just confuses me....how can i breed my horses together, or one of my mares to a different players stallion or vice versa?
-
All it says is that i can put both my stallions up for breeding but none of my mares are eligible for breeding...something along those lines.

Here's a quick overview of breeding in this game.
!. Stallions must be at least 3 years old to breed. Mares must be at least 4 years old to breed.
2. Stallions may do up to 50 live cover breedings in a season. There is no limit on straws for breeding, but you will need an upgrade to pull straws and use them. Mares can only be bred once each season, unless you are able to pull eggs and use them.
If your mares are not eligible for breeding, then they are either younger than 4, or they have already been bred this season. Check on a mare's information page. The third bit of information under her name is "Foals this year." It will be 0 if she's breedable and 1 if she's already been bred.
3. Either the mare or the stallion must be up for public breeding, even if you are just breeding your own horses. If you don't mind other players using your stallion, you can leave his breeding fee at what you consider a fair price throughout the breeding season. If you don't want other players to use him, return his breeding fee to 0 hajibucks when you are done breeding him. The breeding season runs through the 27th day of the month.
4. Breeding costs: 1,000hb for the vet fee, whatever the breeding fee is, even if it's your own horse. However, the breeding fee is both charged to your account and deposited to your account, so the result is 0hb. But you must have enough to cover the vet fee and the stated breeding fee in order to breed.
5. Breeding season comes at the start of each game year, every other month, in Hunt and Jump 1. The years begin in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
If you have any other specific questions that aren't answered here, or if something isn't clear yet, please ask. Someone will be glad to help out. It's easier to answer specific questions than general ones, since the game is so complex.
