Appy Butts ?
-
How come each time I breed this stud he gives me small appy butt patterns on the foals? I seen in his foal history he is capable of producing a large blanket foal.

Its not variability it's genetics. There is 6 main genes and hundreds of factors that can influence blanket size on appies. If you want big blankets you should breed to mares with big blankets.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I don't know. My Ex Pro Appy stallion sometimes produces foals like this:
And sometimes like this:
I think it's nice, I don't want to have many foals woth the same pattern.Post edited by Azadeh at 2015-11-30 23:24:26understand the significance of signaturesThanked by 1Abbey98 -
If you can color test some of the foals with the lager blankets.. I think I read something about the PATN1 gene in the game that causes the larger blankets. Your stud is het for that gene.
ECA3P(PATN1)
Gene Fundamentals
Produces no visual effect at all with out the appaloosa gene present. With appaloosa the mutation PATN1 of this gene heavily promotes white blanket markings. Homozygous PATN1 horses will tend to have very large blanket markings and may be full leopards.
Scientific Designation
Official abbreviated name is ECA3P
Proper full name is Endoplasmic reticulum-type calcium-transporting atpase 3
Located on chromosome 3Thanked by 1Abbey98 -
