Hey all. I know this mare has DP, but the question is - one copy or two copies?

looks like 1 copy on the first, and 2 on the second. But I could be totally wrong

I think two on a homozygous sooty palomino makes a black chestnut. I think she's probably heterozygous DP.

I don't know Sandy, I think the pali could have homozygous DP, but it wouldn't be a chestnut, because it still has the creme gene so it would be a pali, lol. It looks pretty dark for the new look of the artwork that Ammit has done. I haven't seen any real real dark pali's since she changed the way it looked it a bit ago. No real chocolate looking pali's anymore, anyways.

The red dun looks like it is just hetero though, as I have seen darker ones.

Ok I have two more mares - they are buckskins, though.

Of the buckskins, the first has At, which is why she is darker.

The other has A+.

This dark buckskin mare of mine visually looks darker than most of my other dark buckskins. I'm gonna guess she has a copy of DP
