For instance, I have chestnuts that hare homo for creme..yet they aren't cremello? and a dun that is also homo for it but isnt perlino dun. Am I missing something?
Genes read CC

Cream is read as Ccr like in this mare http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3435796
EDIT: Also if you click on the actual gene you can read more about that particular gene.Post edited by Alianne at 2015-12-22 23:03:45I breed Drafts and star horses :D

...really?? I've always learned the other way. Thanks.

The reason it's that way in the game is perhaps because there are three alleles for that gene --C which is no cream, Ccr which is cream, and Cprl which is pearl. Cprl is the most recessive form, because it has to be homozygous to have its full effect. CprlCcr is called a pseudo double dilute.

I see now. I thought it was like the other genes, cc for neither and ex. Crcr was one dilute, CrCr being double etc
Thank you! Thread can be locked now if needed -
It's one of the exceptions to the general rule. Another is flaxen that only expresses when it's homozygous recessive. Satin is the same.
Several of the genes in the game have non-standard notations.
S is non-sooty. Ssty is sooty; S+ is an extreme form of sooty that often has dapples. It tends to show up best on horses with a dilution gene; at least it did before Ammit started upgrading the images.
rb is recessive rabicano, no effect. Rb is the dominant expression.
There are four alleles at Agouti. A+, wild bay, the most dominant, gives patchy gray stockings; A, normal bay with black complete stockings, mane and tale; At, which makes brown horses when combined with recessive a; a, which is the recessive, form of the gene that causes no effect on black pigment.
Kit has a large number of mutations that cause varying types of pigment failure (white hair).
Group 1: KitW1, KitW2, KitW3, and KitW4--various types of Dominant White, all of them homozygous lethal and lethal in any combinations.
2. Kitr--roan, neither homozygous lethal nor lethal in combination with other Kit mutations.
3. KirTo--tobiano, neither homozygous lethal nor lethal in combination with other Kit mutations.
Group 4: KitSb1, KitSb2, KitSb3--Sabinos. None are homozygous lethal. All can be combined with each other. Sb1 and Sb2 are lethal in combination with W1 and W2, but can be combined with W3 and W4. Sb3 is not lethal with anything.
