At & A+
-
I know these have been a part of the game for ages and I have never paid much attention to them before, but (thanks to Ammit's sale) I am GMTing some of my horses and was wondering what these two genes do.
If it helps I am turning this horse into A GP mare & want to change aa to AA, but was wondering what effect I would get if I changed it to A+A, AtA or AtA+ etc.?
Thanks in advance

A+ is wild bay, and it is a complete dominant gene. One copy of A+ will get you The Look, regardless of whichever agouti gene you apply, resulting in something kind of like this horse. Note the almost non-existent black points.
At is brown, but it is not particularly dominant. One copy of At with no other agouti genes is the darkest shade of brown, like this:
Whereas two copies of brown (AtAt) lighten back up and basically look like bay again:
Note that to actually get 'brown' the horse needs to have some sooty, but with a BBTS you're covered there.Thanked by 1Pagan -
I appreciate it. I've never paid much attention to those before.
