DP Question
-
Hmmm. I'm looking at these 2 colts out of my DP mare pasture. The sire doesn't carry DP as far as I know. I don't know if existing horses had DP added at random or if it was only applied to new creates once the DP was implemented, so I am assuming that he doesn't have any DP.
Which colt looks more likely like he might have 1 copy of DP?

I put the sire in the DP pasture for giggles this season. I wanted to see what I got. -
It would help if you color tested them so people could see how much sooty they have. Sooty and DP can both darken the coat, and if you don't know sooty status, you really can't guess DP status on most of them.
-
it will also be harder because of several other factors.
1. neither foal is ee
2. at least one foal looks to be champagne (which IMO, makes it harder to spy)
3. the amount of white on them.
color testing will help though :) -
I color tested them. Both boys have one copy of sooty. From looking at my bay/brown horses that are by my homo DP stallion, they have darker points and their coats look darker in their dark areas.
Champagne? Jury's still out on that for me lol.
