I live in Green Bay, WI across the lake from Detroit! I don't know of any places in MI, WrittenInTheStars is from there, and I know she trained dressage there too, not by Detroit though. I'm sure there are places that can do "trail rides" through the forests up there, basically they throw you on a dead head horse and lead you through the forest, it's really not too fun to someone that actually rides. If you can, try going to the UP and exploring over there, it's wild and beautiful! If you can, come and see Wisconsin, the Nicolet national forest is absolutely stunning, and I think there might be some places there you can rent a horse.

If you wanna get REALLY western, go to Montana lol.

If you do come to WI, I might be able to let you try my morgan gelding if you want to come to Green Bay (And I'm free that day), there are some nice trails at my barn, but you'll have to pay for a "lesson" to ride.

Going to have to get the map out and check where all these places are.
Ichigo thank you for all your suggestions, I have looked at a ranch in Montana and was tempted. Trouble is I'd like to spend as much time with my bro and his gang as possible and travelling that distance will seriously eat into my time.

SSF lol roller coasters are not my thing at all.
