    Hi all! I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on the Chinchilla gene for me, which I bought last night and adore. I have noticed some CHN horses with stunning dapples, and others without. Is this luck of the draw? I thought it had to do with Sooty, but I bought these two mares who both have it...

    Reroll the image and dapples will show eventually as long as the horse has silver

    That’s what it looks like. If you look at Wilde Watch, dad does not have silver and has no dapples. Mom has silver and has dapples. It’s the same with Wilde Arrival. Both Arrival and Watch have silver, therefore dapples.

    Depends on the base color and the coat modifiers. A horse that is silver black will have dapples (sometimes they will come out without but rerolling the image will bring them out). A black horse without silver will not show the Chinchilla traits. A chestnut with Chinchilla will be white with red eyes. Bays with Chinchilla may have faint dapples.

    I don’t breed chinchilla on this server, but I do on Forest. One of my favorites is S+ it adds a different type of dapple.
