Points?
-
What are the points for each horse? and why is my horses points in the negative red?
-
Your profit could be negative but the points shouldn't be, they just accumulate as the horse wins/places at shows
-
If you look on your stable home page, near the bottom of the lower box, you will see a statement something like this:You currently hold 2,022,254.0 points.
You earn a 1,011,127 hb's weekly bonus from showing.
This week you earned a net profit of -11,175 hb's.,
There are two separate factors involved here--Points and Profits.
Points are those awarded to every horse in the class based on where they place. Only the horse that comes in last receives no points. Each week, when you receive your game salary, you will also receive a Showing Bonus payment that, at this time, equals 1/2 of the total number of points all your horses have earned. These points stay with the horse until it passes out of the game when it turns 18 or older.
Profit keeps track of how much your horses' cash winnings in shows brought in above (or below) the cost of the entry fee. Only horses that place in the top half of the class earn more cash than the entry fee, and so they can lose money for the stable.
As you can see, from this data from my stable home page, your showing bonus has a much greater effect on your income than profits, since my horses are in the red by 11,175 hajibucks, but my showing bonus is over 1million hbs.
On each horse's page, which is where I think you have been looking, you will see a related but different collection of stats, reporting on how the horse is doing financially in shows.Training: Trained For Week
Earnings this year: 378 hb's
Points this year: 63.0
Total earnings: 2821 hb's
Total points: 537
Profit: -109
The first stat tells whether the horse has been trained for the week.
The second one tells how many hb's it has earned this game year.
The third give you the number of points the horse has added to its record during the current year.
The fourth reports how many hb's the horse has earned in all of its life from cash payouts from the shows it was entered in.
The fifth gives you the life-time number of points it has earned.
The last tells you it's cumulative profit from showing, or, when the figure is a negative number and red, how much it has lost in its showing career.
This horse, therefore, is showing a loss in the profit column at the moment. Checking her Records tab, I find that she is currently showing in 6 National and coming in near the bottom of the class. This means that she is NOT making enough money to cover her entry fees, but she IS continuing to add points for her placement in the classes, since she hasn't come in dead last. As she continues to train, she will continue to add fractions of a point to her show score, but she will increase this very slowly, since she will probably level off near the bottom of the class .
However, at the present time she is contributing for 268 hbs to my showing bonus and will be worth keeping and showing.
