Any high point horses for sale?
  • I'm looking for a high point horse for My barn, I will pay a reasonable price.
  • Almost never. Best way to get them is to train up your own.

  • The ones I've seen when they are listed with 1000+ points, showing well or not, often go for 10k or at it's highest almost 20k (the latter often for level 8 showing horses).
  • The price they are worth selling for is not a price they are worth buying for. Hence why they don't come up for sale. :)

  • Look in the auctions, occasionally you can pick up a bargain at the end of the breeding season as older breeding stock is fixed and auctioned. You can also pick up high PT foals very cheaply.
It really is a matter of patience and barn space to create a good show string.

  • If I decide to sell one of my high point horses, I set their price by a formula based on their age and points they currently have. I may price them higher than some, but it's because I know what they're worth if I keep them and I'm willing to be patient.

For example, a horse with 1400 points is guaranteed to make 6100 hb each year just by standing around in my barn. If that horse is only 10 years old, that means it will make about 48,800 hb before it turns 18 and it risks passing out of the game.

To give up a guaranteed 48,800 hb, I wouldn't consider selling said horse for less than 24,400 - and that's only if it's leveled off at a bad place and isn't likely to keep earning points (and exponentially increasing its earning potential). Incidentally, this amount would take four game years for you to earn back with this horse.
