Attn : New Players! Want to know how to make money to support your H&J habit?

In the left menu, scroll down and select Upgrade. Then select Voucher Exchange. This will take you to the section of the menu where you can purchase Investment Vouchers for 12,500 hbs each. You will also find the place where you can use those IVs to purchase things, as MackZ has explained.
For those of us who have large, very large, or extremely large stables, and who have been playing for a fair amount of time, Investment Vouchers are a critically important feature of the game. Quite a few real-life years ago, Ammit put a cap on the number of hbs a player can hold--9,999,999 hbs. Any money coming into the account above that will be lost. This was to improve the game economy. However, there is no limit to the number of IVs a player can hold.
When my account balance creeps up above 9,000,000 hbs, I purchase 100 IV's. If it has gotten above 9,500,000 hbs, I get 150 IVs. This happens about once a month, usually.

I'm a new player. What do I want to buy with vouchers?
I'm in no danger of my account getting about 9 million!
thanks! -
Welcome, Fiddler. Investment Vouchers can be used to purchase Genetic Modification Tokens to add the most common genes to a horse or to change it's bone weight or height, among other things. They can be used to purchase barns, until your stable has more than 10,000 stalls. They can be used to purchase a basic upgrade.
If you click on Upgrade in the left margin and select Voucher Exchange, you can explore all the things they can be used for.
However, each IV costs 12,500 hbs, so they're not something that new players generally can afford to purchase.
I've been playing since January 2011, and hoarding horses all that time, so my showing bonus is fairly large. If you stick with the game long enough, you will find that IV's can be very helpful.
Barns can be purchased with real money as well as IV's and so can hbs.

What does Callista mean by breeding in pastures into the negative:
"I also learned that I was allowed to pasture-breed into the negative, which could make you jump from step 1 to 3 as well by starting with 19 mares."Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-06-15 12:34:57 -
@OopsDotCom, I think it means your hbs could go into the negative to cover the full cost of breeding a pasture, rather than some mares being left unbred when you run out of money. But I don't think that works anymore. I know it used to work because I went into the negative from pasture breeding all the time when I first started playing, but I'm pretty sure a couple months ago when I tried to breed a pasture and didn't have enough money, it only bred as many mares as I had money for and the rest were left unbred. But the whole premise that Callista was talking about won't really work anymore anyway because it was about bulk creating and pasture breeding for profit, and the pasture breeding cap has put an end to that, for the most part.
