-
I got an error trying to buy a horse about associated accounts needing to be level 5. But to my knowledge Sunriver and I are not associated ?
Thank you

Oh! How did that happen?
-
It can happen if you both log in from the same place, like a school library or a restaurant that provides free Wi-Fi. However, the most common way comes about because of the way the Internet works.
Every device that logs in to the Internet is assigned a number called an Internet Protocol Address for that session. Every Internet service provider is given a specific block of these numbers, and one is assigned to each computer as customers of the ISP log in. When that computer logs out of the Internet, its IP address number is available for another device to use while it is logged in. Especially for huge Internet Providers, think AOL for one, it's easy to become associated with another stable, even if its owner lives far away from you and you've never met.
My daughter and I live in the same household and both use her email account for our game memberships, although we have separate stables. This is in accordance with the game rules. Our accounts are, therefore, associated accounts. However, when I check my account, there are two other associated stables that I have no idea about who the owners are.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2018-03-13 19:11:24Thanked by 1Johara -
Totally correct. The most common way people get associated is by having the same internet provider. Imagine the number of people who have Comcast for example. You may use hundreds off different IPs to log into the game over time.Post edited by Ammit at 2018-03-14 03:56:31Need to contact me? Read this first.

How do you find out who your associated account are? Is there anyway to fix that? I understand if its someone you know but becoming associated with someone you don't know and never met ...It just seems strange.
-
It isn't strange at all. Sandy Creek and Ammit explained it well. If you use an internet provider who is common in many states, it is very easy to be come associated with others who use the same provider. The provider only has a certain number of IP addresses, which get rotated. You are bound to have used the same IP address as other players.

Ohh, the flagged sales is cool! When did that get added?
Now that so many of us use tablets and phones at least a little bit, I'm surprised more of us aren't associated.Bluegrass #143376 * Specializing in Iced Axiom (ExPro Cobs) and Iced Phantoms (PF Riding Ponies)

It has always been there but I am letting you guys see your own flagged sales now.
Random associations is defiantly becoming more common with how few mobile carriers there are. I can actually tell if you are Sprint/ATT etc from your IPs.Post edited by Ammit at 2018-03-14 12:44:30Need to contact me? Read this first.
