Sometimes horses suck
  • Especially when they tear down the electric fence at 12:30 in the morning in a wet and muddy pasture, electrifying the ENTIRE ground in the surrounding area. My dad heard me bolting out of the house freaking out and came out to see what was wrong. I thought that my mare had attacked my sister's horse again (which i still don't know if that was the cause or not). So when i went to check my sisters horse i saw a spark coming from a t-post that should not have a hot line on it... I looked to my right and literally wanted to cry. They managed to rip one t-post clean out of the ground, broke 7 of the plastic insulators (the pieces that keep the line off the t-post), and tore the line off 4 or 5 posts. 2 live lines were just laying in the mud. My dad helped me get everything back together even though he has to be up for work at 7. So blessed to have that man in my life :)
My mare is making my life incredibly difficult recently. All because she can't stand my sister's horse wearing a blanket. Ugh, mares 8-|

  • Horses are a pain in the butt sometimes. My one mare has no problems walking through hot electric fence, so I ended up getting field fence and then stringing two strands of hot wire inside the fence line. So far it has kept the girls in, but I still keep my fingers crossed. I actually just hooked the field fence directly to my metal t-posts and used a 2x2 hooked to my tractor bucket to pull it tight. It made a two person job into a one person job and has held up pretty good for the last few years!
Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.
