Updating AFPT on Mares and Stallions
  • Bear with me not sure if I am wording this right ... Is there a way to update the AFPT on your breeding stock without having to open their page individually and go to the family tab and click foals? I have been doing this way for a while now, but was wondering if I was missing something. I tend to forget to update the older mares and always the stallions and so I've just been doing the younger stock, so I am missing updating a whole bunch. Do you know what I mean LOL?

  • I just ran a check on some mares in one of my pastures. The first one, I opened her page, went to the family tab, and looked at her foals, then returned to the pasture. Her AFPT was updated. The second one, I opened her page, went to the family tab, and returned to the pasture. Her AFPT was updated. The third one, I just opened her page and returned to the pasture. Her AFPT had been updated. So, my conclusion is that we only need to open the mare's page for the update to happen, which should be a lot quicker than going through more steps. (To clarify, I saw an updated AFPT for the second two mares on the pasture page when I returned to it.)

I don't believe Ammit has created a bulk AFPT update for us.

  • Newbie question -- where is AFPT listed? I'm scanning Horse Info page and am not seeing it (unless you need more than two offspring to create an average, in which case I'll need to wait another breeding season).
  • @Corvus You do have to open the horse page, but there is no need to go to the tab and open the foal search.

@StarBarKRanch AFPT is an upgraded feature. Not sure if it is only premium or not. It is found on the horse page, where you click to view foals. After the horse have been viewed it is also in the search results, after where it says "Bred this year: 0 or 1".

  • Okay that makes things so much easier, just opening their pages instead of opening and going to family and loading all the foals ... some of those guys have alot of foals LOL ...

  • @Maribo thank you! I don't think I have that level of upgrade to view then. At least it's not too difficult to compute myself for the time being.
