A license is when you own one of the closed genes as listed on your member page. Ones you don't own are grayed out while the ones you do own are highlighted green. In order to get one you need to pay real money on the upgrade with real money page. Different closed genes costs different amounts of money and they show up at different times every month. Once you own said license, you can then own Intact horses and breed them all you like. Other players that also own said license can then buy intact horses from you and breed those horses themselves. However, players who don't have it can only buy snipped horses from you as they again don't have said license. Even if they own one said license on one of the horses genes that is a combo of closed genes they can only get them snipped.
Some closed genes I think off the top of my head are Watercolor, Wrong Warp, Chinchilla, Ice 10, Ice 9, Macchiato, Ice 15, Plaid, Thunderstruck, and Ice 13.

what if we buy a yum (I think its called) horse will we get said license?
