Higher gen Star question
-
Okay, I've got a question. I just bred this colt
7752752 6 S Calasa
At what point will I stop getting Star papered colts that test superior to sire?
So far, in that bloodline, the boys are superior to their sires. But I keep reading about people getting to a point where it wasn't really possible to get sup anymore. So when can I expect that point with that particular bloodline? -
I don’t believe it ever becomes impossible, just a lot more difficult. I’ve noticed around Gen 5-7 it has gotten very difficult in my lines, but every now and then I get a superior to keep.

I have a line of long pedigree horses whose ancestors reach back before 2011 when I started playing the game. I almost never get stallions that test superior to sire, but I do get mares that remain intact. I would have to say that my long pedigree line was already pretty stagnant quite a few real-life years ago.

I assume that since we have a cap on PT scores, that eventually a sire line will reach the point where it's already as good as it will get. I'm just trying to figure out when the checkpoint is.
I just bred a 7th gen colt that is AGA. I just don't know if I should keep him or not. He is 4th generation Star on his sire line. -
I feel your pain. I have kept my 7G AGA colt in hopes that he’s slightly better than his sire.

There is a cap roughly around the breeding equivalent to a 14PT horse, so PT itself isn't limited but the breeding ability of horses around that level is. So yes you will get to a point where it is impossible to get a superior son except by boosting
