On Monday I started a competition to win a horse in celebration because my younger daughter had given birth to my second granddaughter (cousin to the first). It seemed like a good idea at the time, but then it transpired that my daughter had had a very difficult birth and I had to go be with her and was subsequently suffering with lack of sleep and worry. I posted to this effect and asked people to forgive me as I was going to have to wait awhile to judge the competition. The wonderful posts wishing me and my daughter well have been truly humbling. We have said it many times before, but the community on here are wonderful. None of you know me, and I am obviously a lot older than most of you, but you are the most warm hearted and caring bunch of human beings that anyone could wish to know.

I thought those who sent good wishes might like to know that my daughter is a lot better now. We went to see her yesterday (still in hospital) and my husband was able to cuddle the baby. I stayed with her again so that our son-in-law could go home again for sleep, a shower etc. I needed to stay with my daughter as she has Asperger's Syndrome (a type of autism) and suffers with anxiety and difficulty with change and uncertainty. I was very re-assured as she was so much better that I am no longer worried about her. All through this the baby has been fine. We are waiting to hear if they can go home today.

The baby is called Ellen Rose and she weighed 9lbs 3oz.
