How'd I get a Warmblood?
-
I started breeding a little bit tonight and bred two of my Riding Horses together and got a warmblood! I was quite surprised as this had never happened to me before. One of the grandparents of the foal is a warmblood but I didn't know that would affect anything.
Here's the foal I got, you can look at his lines and maybe I overlooked something?

Thanks everyone!
(He will probably be for sale too since I don't breed warmbloods and if anyone wants to make an offer) -
Both mom and dad are on the heavier bone density side especially mom.. there's leeway on both sides for a bigger or smaller foal.. next season I'd breed mom to a stallion that's under 1.00 bone densityThanked by 1kgstable

the cut off in bone weight for a riding horse is 1.49. Since your foal got a bone weight of 1.55, he is a warmblood. It happens sometimes when bone weights of the parents are close to the cut off :)

@Bambi2017 @HayesStable Thanks guys! Guess I didn't realize that I could get a WB from two RH even if their bone weight was high. I'll be more careful next time because I loved the result in crossing them.
Just one more question: If I breed them again next season is there a chance to get a RH or would I still get a WB since I got a WB this time? -
you still have a chance at getting a RH with this pair since they themselves are :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755
