increasing show points

I produced several foals since I began playing last week. Would I be better off auctioning those that do not fit my breeding program and turning around and buying these with 200+ points for the same price? And does this game let you have a negative balance?

I would think that auctioning off the foals that don't fit your program and buying more pointed show horses would be wise. You can fall into a negative balance, but you will not be able to do anything that needs hajibucks until your balance gets back into the positive range. You'll probably get a message like "You don't have enough money to ..."
