You should see a series of "achievements" on your member home page that will guide you through the basics of playing the game. However, if you are puzzled about how to do any of them, please ask, and we'll answer.
In the Vital Links list is one for the FAQ User Guide which gives a basic overview of the game. That will also be a help for you.
It's okay to just start out doing some breeding (when the new breeding season starts for you), and some showing, and creating a few horses, just to learn how to do things. Once you've played for a while, you will probably decide what colors or sizes you'd like to breed for. This is how most of us started.
Everyone sets their own goals and works towards them, so there isn't only one correct way to play the game. However, showing horses is the best way to make money over time, rather than breeding to sell to other players.
That's a very good looking stallion you've created. I like his high stockings. It's a good idea to run all horses through the Breeding Advice test. This will let you know if they will have a chance to produce foals better than they are. If they will not be good at all for breeding, the test will neuter them and give you a start on your show string.
