@BlueBoy your stallion doesn't have snowflake. That's early varnishing. ALL Appaloosas have it. New players easily get confused with this. If your horse had snowflake he would have clean crisp white speckles all over. The legs are a dead giveaway to see if a horse has snowflake or varnishing. If the legs are cloudy/ really light with no clean crisp spots then it's varnishing. If the legs have clean crisp spots, then it's a dead giveaway.

To answer your question, ALL Snowflakes have to have the Appaloosa gene (Lp). Otherwise it will not show, even if they are Hom, and they have to be Hom for the Snowflake gene too otherwise it will not show even if your horse has the Appy gene. Just take a Hom/Hom to get a Hom Snowflake or Hom/Het or Het/Het etc. to get a Snowflake. It's pretty easy once you get a hold of a snowflake stud and mare. Their not hard to breed, their just expensive is all.

That makes so much sense now! I knew I had snowflake and varnish confused but I was so certain on that one- darn haha. Thank you so much for the info, it’s definitely appreciated. That really makes things clear. It’s definitely a learning curve with this game- thank goodness there are older players who are willing to help the newbies out!
