Let's talk showing scores.
-
Now, as I'm sure this been asked a million times and I'm honestly just too lazy to scroll through a ton of post... ideas wondering what is the ideal showing score to rack the most hbs?
Example- 9.40, 10.20, 11.20, 12.20
Consistant or Inconsistent?
Does papers help at all? Like would a horse papered blue make more then a horse papered yellow even if the performance score is higher on the yellow?
Thank you in advance for the help ❤Dont let me over spend-
It happened...again...

It’s my understanding that the scores 9.40, 10, 11 etc are roughly the age the horse will level out with their training. So, the higher the score, the longer they train. The longer they train, the better their performance showing and the higher level. The higher the performance and level, the higher the points they earn.

Papers affect only belreeding ability, not showing ability.
Consistent means they’ll get the same score every time they show - the more inconsistent, the more the score will vary.Post edited by LenasHollywood at 2019-05-19 17:23:08 -
There is no right or wrong PT score.
Low pt scores add less points to their show score each week so they stay in a level longer giving them time to improve their placings and earn more points. They typically earn more points as younger horses compared to higher PT horses and are more your slow and steady turtles.
High pt scores add more points to their show score each week so they tend to rocket up the lower levels and unless their starting score is in a good place they tend to earn just enough points to level up without improving their placings so they may struggle to keep up with a lower pt horse until they reach the higher levels of showing and can find their legs and start placing higher. As the classes get bigger more points are awarded so then the high PT horse will typically start to make up for their earlier struggle for points.
A long time ago (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) class fees were much higher (and you made your hbs by actually showing and placing in the top half not collecting the most points and getting a daily bonus) it was better to track show scores and average show scores of each level and hand show each horse when it was at an optimal place to place well and earn back its entry fees.
Inconsistent horses made that very difficult because they rarely scored where they should according to calculations while a consistent horse would score within 1-2 points of your expected score but if a consistent and inconsistent horse had the same score the inconsistent one would typically place higher because of its variance.
But because the inconsistent horses caused such a hassle and usually ended up costing a ton to show without making it back when it should have a lot of the older players would dump them and only keep consistent ones as they were easier to make money on.
But now class fees are nominal and what a horse scores is less important than how many points it holds and as long as it’s placing above last place it’s adding to those points and increasing its daily scoreBreeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
