Making Money
-
I was wondering how I can make money on this game besides winning and selling horses~Kate101

Showing is really the best way to make money. It doesn't happen over night, but by gradually building a herd of consistent show horses you will begin to turn profits. I show all my stock, spays, gelds, stallions and mares. If an intact stops showing well I only keep them if they are something special (color or pedigree) otherwise they get the snip and off to yum yum land or auction.
That being said you can make a little extra cash during breeding season by placing mares up for public brood even if they are nothing special. Many people are in need of a recipiant for an ET when they run out of their own. If you have a stud that is "special" you can likely make some money by placing him up for stud as well.Thanked by 1Kate101 -
You will also receive a "paycheck" every week (non-upgraded accounts have to manually pick it up, I believe). The amount depends on the level of the upgrade.

A well balanced string of show ponies can have you raking in the cash. It just takes a while to learn how to build that string. :)

Creating horses with your daily herd helper can sometimes get you good bonus money, and get to sell then in the public auction afterwards to get most of your money back!
Personally I think it's a long hard slog to make good money from showing. I do make around 400,000 a week from them now now but it's taken about 2 real years to get to that point. Keeping thousands of geld/spays, waiting for them to mature, and then culling those that level in a bad spot.
Other than that, breed good quality horses that people might spend more than Yum price for them. I've made good money from stud fees too, but had to spend some real money to get them there (boosts/gmts/LE genes etc)
If you are breeding responsibly, ie trying to improve quality, following other breeders rules etc, lots of people are more likely to help you with cheaper breedings/straws to help you get there. Slow and steady, learn as you go and you'll have a good quality herd in no time!
