So I've been debating all season who to breed my lovely Like Minded mare to:
Benevolence FTF
I don't really breed for appaloosa, at least not primarily, so I wasn't totally sold on who to breed her to or for what. But, I had this Stars & Stripes Forever stud in my barn, not really getting used but earning enough of a daily payout for me to keep him around:
Only In America FTF
Two big loud Appaloosas, both brindle, one with tiger eye and snowflake, one with tobiano and splash, I could hardly wait to see how the foal turned out!
And then... we get.... this =))

Literally the least exciting genes in the world: Ee AA CC nd2nd2 gg ff SS pp WF: Minimal She missed EVERYTHING exciting from BOTH parents :)) (She is het snowflake, but not being hom it won't show on her, and I don't anticipate crossing her with other snowflake horses - I dont breed for it.)
But, as fate would have it, I just started breeding for bay warmbloods... so she gets to keep a home in my barn! Arguably, she's more useful to me now than she would have been as an appaloosa, LOL. What she doesn't have that I would really want for my bay line is sooty, but I have plenty of sooty 2Gs to cross her to. And it will be really, REALLY fun to someday look back in the pedigree of my lined bay warmblood babies and see those two loud Appaloosas at the foundation!
Funny how things turn out...Post edited by FlyingTurkeyFarm at 2019-06-29 12:01:19 -

Things like this are part of what makes this game so fascinating to play. I've said quite a few times that about the only predictable thing in the game is that breeding a plain chestnut stallion to a plain chestnut mare WILL give you a plain chestnut foal.

Hypothetically said chestnut foal could be brindle, right?Spiderweb Stables

I totally agree Sandy, I LOVE the unpredictability and realism in this game. Things like this happen in real life too and I appreciate that the game is similar in that way. It makes it so you dont always know what kind of foal you'll get which is half the fun :D

Haha I have had this happen.
