Exciting News! I'm Moving!
-
The apartment I'm currently in floods whenever there's heavy rain or snowmelt, and this has been a problem for more than a year. It flooded twice last weekend. The manager has been trying to get it fixed, but they have no idea when that will be, so they're moving us to a bigger, nicer unit for the same rent! I'm gonna have another bedroom and a little back deck that I can put plants and my grill on! And no mopping up flooding! Nothing lifechanging, but it will sure be nice and I wanted to share that excitement with you guys!Spiderweb Stables

Oh, that'll be nice during the summer.

That's awesome! Congrats! It's always nice when something bothersome winds up paying off in the long run, dealing with flooding is so unpleasant, I'm glad you'll get to be in a nicer place now :DID: 247225

Me too! Some of the management is trying to be a pain about it now, but we'll call the district manager again if we have to. My husband is super frustrated with them (We've been reporting this flooding issue for over a year, and the people who lived here before us reported it too, though in their defense, management companies have changed twice in that time and it's been a mess). I told him that we should come back at them with a rude counter offer. "Well, we were gonna pay the same as we're paying now, but now that you're telling us you're going to raise our rent after all we'll just have to pay $100 less a month..."
But I'm pretty sure the district manager will call them out on their bologna, so it will be fine. And then we'll live in a bigger place with more windows for my plants and no dog pee smell washing in with the rainSpiderweb Stables

Oh that is wonderful! Very happy for you! I am really glad your management was willing to move you and help deal with the issue, having your rental flood on a regular basis is absolutely unacceptable. Hopefully all works out with the district manager, too, as I'm sure it will! Big congrats!!
