This is how the pasture bonus works: every breeding has a range of possible breeding and training ability stats that the foal can get based on the parent's breeding abilities. Without pasture bonus the foal's scores are chosen randomly from anywhere in that range. For each day the mare is in the pasture (up to the maximum 30 day bonus) a little more is taken away from the bottom end of that range of possible scores. So it doesn't actually boost the mare's breeding score, it just increases the chance that the foal will be at the better end of what she is able to produce.
