    Completely personal preference.

    For me, him not papering up being a 3rd gen would be an automatic snip... Him comparing worse than his sire for me would also be an automatic snip..
    My only worry with trying to boost him would be, even with a 5% boost, you'll probably only get him to be as good as his sire who is also only as good as his sire which you would then be working with a 3rd gen foundation level stallion.

    I would personally snip and try again next season if possible

    Auto snip for me, 3rd gen should be A papered and testing superior. Not sure if a boost would be enough to get him there. My 2nd gens that I keep are all A papered as well.

    He's certainly an eyecatcher, but I would just snip and try again next season. You could pull some eggs from his dam and straws from his sire. See if you can get a better duplicate.
