How to work my Christmas ponies into the herd?
-
So I made all my Christmas ponies as foals. And I know with them being Het for their respective genes, nothing will show until they meet their match with another horse. So it's kind of a guessing game of I don't gmt them to make them homozygous. But since I'm stuck at home with my broken arm, I'm trying to save my real money for Dr bills. Anyway I'm ramblin, so I have these two really cute plain Jane ponies in a sea of splashy dashy ones. I'm not going to have a problem with Kit genes since I have tobiano, sabino, and w20in the herd. I just don't know if I have any other hidden Gene horses. So what's the best way to integrate my two lovely ladies into the mix without gmt?
Pictures just because. I don't think I want to sell them. Hints and suggestions please

I'd say try to find some homozygous studs or straws to buy, then with some luck you might end up with homo babies and can combine them easier with the rest of your herd!HJ1 160524

I have a riding horse that is hom KP and hom snowflake if you'd like a few straws from him.Post edited by bluchrystals at 2019-12-06 08:08:22

Well they won't come to any harm at the moment. Maybe you will get some GMT's/candy ponies in SS and you can modify them at a later date.
If not, I have a couple of flashy GP/KP studs I am happy to send you straws from.

The hidden genes on these horses normally don't show up in regular creates, they have to be GMTed on. That's why everyone is so excited about these ghosts. So your other horses would only have them if they are or are descended from GMTed horses. The wording here makes me think you might not realize that.Spiderweb Stables

DP and Snowflake, at least, can definitely pop up in regular creates, the problem is that you just don't always know they're THERE. I started using my AOLMP stud exclusively on my foundation liver herd a few months ago, and discovered I've got three mares who carry snowflake!ID #238663, she/her pronouns

Thanks @Pagan they are all pretty, but tall. I'm trying to keep to pony sizes and not have to breed down so much to get the right height.
Maybe someone does have a really short horse, or better yet, a pony I can work with. Thanks!
