Variable barn sell back prices are here! Here is out it works.

Barns you have purchased recent (and into the future) record how you purchased them and for how much. Barns purchased with IVs record how much you paid for them. Barns purchased with cash know they were purchased with cash. When you go to sell a barn it will pay out back based on what you paid at the time of purchase.

For older purchases there was no way to know exactly what you paid for them, so here is what I did. I calculated how many barns you had purchased with cash in the past and labeled that many of your barns as "Cash Purchases." Everything else was labeled as an unknown IV Purchase. If an IV purchase has an unknown IV amount the game calculates what it thinks you probably paid for it based on your total number of stalls. I made this system very generous and you will probably be paid out more IVs then you actually paid for the barn (Merry Christmas ;) )

Between now and Jan 1st I have set the sell back rate to 90%. That means you are getting 90% of what you paid (or are estimated to have paid) back in IVs. This is a super generous deal designed to encourage big barns to get those stall numbers down before New Year. Once we hit 2020 that payout will drop significantly to more normal rates. Please do take advantage of this offer.

Thanks, Ammit for this very special offer. I have just sold back several barns by moving the horses into others with enough room and have pushed my total non-primary stall count down to 9875. I'm fairly sure that I can do some further reductions, but this is a good start.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but if I still a barn that has horses in it they will go to my primary barn right? I accidentally sold a barn that I didn't move horses from first and I can't remember if it had any horses in it!

I sold back everything under 120 stalls and all of my 1/10 pastures and I may sell back even more barns! Organization will be SO much easier!

I sold two barns back to get one bigger barn but they just disappeared and I did not get any IV’s in return. What should I do now?

@unwanteds Can you please provide way more information? What size barns? How did you get them?

I have tested it and looked over the code and I don't see any bugs. I also see two extra barns in your account. Are you sure you sold them back?

@Ammit I had a 30 stall and a 15 stall barn that I purchased a while ago with IV's, I sold them back so that I could buy one 60 stall barn since I saved money and combined with the IV's I could now purchase it. I sold the barns back but I can not find anything that says I sold them back and I do not have any more IV's. I am not sure what happened.

People who had barns not payout I need you to tell me what you named your barns. It is possible the names you used broke the payout system.

I have done every test I can think of, looked at every possible state the barns can be in. Made brand new accounts to test, tried strange characters, tried to break it with odd values. I can not reproduce this. I can see no possible way these are removing barns but not paying out. So I am completely stuck here. I can neither open this nor payout the people missing payouts until I know what is wrong, but I see absolutely nothing wrong in over 100 tests.

Basically I need something to work off of and have nothing here.

So there is no bug I can find here. Nothing. So this is what I have done. I have added an extra security measure. It checks the number of IVs you have before paying you the IVs and then again after, and only if it confirms a change will it remove the barn. This is a clunky way of doing it and not something I normally want to do (it has its own issues) but this will guarantee absolutely you will get paid or it errors out.

If you get the error, please report it to me.

If you are missing a payout please PM me with the following info form for each barn you did not get paid for (best-remembered guess is fine):

Name:
Expected IVs to be paid:

You must send me a PM with this form for each barn you did not get paid for me to assist you. Thank you so much for your patience.

I just noticed a possible bug? The horses that were in the sold pastures are not going anywhere. At least, not at the moment that the pasture is sold. Maybe this is something that gets cleaned up at various times through out the day, like top of the hour or when yummed horses are deleted kinda thing?

Maybe I have been gone too long and just don't understand. While having IV's is great, if I had enough, I would just buy more of the larger barns. I keep seeing mentions of getting the barn numbers down by the end of of the year. I just feel like I am missing the big picture somewhere. :-??

Can someone help me understand?

The really huge barns [edit: as in, accounts that are over 10k stalls] are putting a strain on the server, so increasing the IV buybacks is a way to encourage people to make their barns smaller.

I'm wanting to sell down my other stable on this server b/c this is really the only one of the two that I use. Is there a way to sell the barns and transfer the IVs/GMTs or whatever to this account and then just close out that account? I hope that makes sense, my brain is a little fried.

The best way to do that is to sell all the barns and whatnot and then merge the 2 accounts.

If I'm not mistaken, GMTs don't merge (along with tack packs) so if you have any, you'll want to use them before merging accounts... Otherwise, everything else moves. Horses, barns, pastures, IVs, etc as well as you get a new 30 stall barn..

This is what the merge option says.

"Merging will move all of the horses, cash, Iv's, upgrades, barns and straws you might own from the selected account and move them into this one."

In November HJ1 users sold back 152,451 horses to the game.
In December you sold back 223,492. That's 70k more horses!
