It's My Birthday in June! (Need Ideas)
-
It sounds like June will be a busy month for everybody on the game with new herd helpers, the games anniversary, chimera/brindle updates, and of course the gift exchange!
But in the midst of all of this my birthday is on the 9th and I'd love to do a giveaway but I have absolutely NO idea what to do. I don't have many hb's currently and am saving for GMT's and the gift exchange.
I could try to get some money to give away some RGS genes
I could do a straw giveaway from Twist Hearts (Wrong Warp, Kit M, Sooty+, DP) or Limited Edition (DP and KP) but not everybody could participate or would want them
What's a good thing to do for a giveaway? And what about fun games and contests for choosing recipients?
Thanks everybody for ideas!
P.S. My birthday is literally my parents, my boyfriend and my best friend so I'll be making a fun cake and we're watching movies and eating dinner! I've decided on a strawberry lemonade cake with some fancy piping, I'm very excited but the big question is lemon cake + strawberry icing or strawberry cake + lemon icing :)) -
Make two! :-))

@White Valley definitely been a thought :)) but we don't eat much cake around here

As you don't have a lot of hbs, how about a take on a Bring and Buy? I don't know if you've every heard of it but they were a large part of my childhood as a way of raising money for charities, clubs, churches etc. The event would be held in a community hall or someone's home. Everybody would bring something to sell and was expected to buy at least one item that someone else had brought, thus raising money for the cause.
You could do something similar. Players would wish you birthday greetings in a creative way - prose, poetry, jokes etc and 'bring' something you could use as a prize. It could be some hbs, a show horse, breeding stock or straws. You would then choose a winner (or two) to give (instead of the 'buy' part) the gifts to, and possibly keep some for yourself as it's your birthday. After all, at the Bring and Buy sales there were always things left at the end that were unsold. :) -
@whiteValley I just remembered this thread and I love that idea!

Happy Birth Month! Mine is this month as well. When I worked in the bakery I used to make a Strawberry Lemonade cake. I would do a lemon cake with strawberries in the middle, and strawberry lemon butter cream. I made regular American style buttercream and added some Lemon Curd to it, and some Strawberry Glaze (Glaze worked better than adding Jam, and the bonus of no seeds!).

@CheshireFarms That sounds yummy! I really have thought about adding some lemon curd into the mix :)
