Records Missing in awards?

All my awards, instead of saying the horse's name, currently say "Records missing" and if I click on that, it says "no horse was found with that Id". Even my "deceased" horses still have their records, I can look up the horses even if they'd died 5 years ago. What makes records go missing?

They are horses that were sold back to the game that have no offspring. Only deceased horses with living descendents are saved in records.#243786
