It's a sad day... First Show Herd Cull
  • I've filled up a whole 210 barn with spelds. Now that I need to make space I've decided to cull the poor performing 3-year-olds.

    So here's they are (before they get deleted);

  • Honestly I’d keep those horses, I took a look through your barns and the oldest show ponies I saw were 3-5, they are just starting their show career and haven’t had a chance to get much training or do too many shows. I’d give them more time to start earning points. Personally I don’t do a cull until they are at least 10, and I periodically cull them afterwards based on points earned during a month. If I’m desperate for space then I’ll auction foals, because they haven’t had the chance to do many shows or do any training, so they aren’t adding to my daily payout like a 2-9yr old would be. I also try to have at least a 3/1 ratio of show horses to breeding horses, my forest account has a 7/1 ratio currently. Having a high ratio of show horses makes it’s easy for me to breed all my horse, buy barn space for them, do testing, and GMTing all through IVs and hjbs.

    Edit
    Those three yr old’s aren’t doing too bad show wise either.
