  • OMG. I have yet to breed onez
Licensed for Mushroom,Onyx, Watercolor, Ice 13, ice 16, Phantom lace, Phantom Diamond sparkle.
  • I bred one of my Brindle Stallions 7 times today and not 1 of his Offspring inherited the Brindle gene. He did give me some gorgeous foals though so honestly I’m really not complaining. So much for a 50% chance possibility of one of his foals getting the Brindle gene though. LOL I think it’s more like a 1% chance. LOL
  • By the way your new colt is Amazing!
  • @HarmonyC chimeras actually don't pass on a brindle gene (horses don't have a brindle gene). How chimeras work (in the game - real life is a little bit more complicated) is that it's essentially twins that fuse. So chimeras act as two horses, and you roll a die when you breed them about which set of genes the goal will inherit. If I have a chimera that's flaxen chestnut and also smokey black Tobiano, and I breed that horse to a chestnut, the foal might get the red genes and be chestnut as well, OR it could get the smokey black set, in which case the horse could be black-based and have the Tobiano gene. It won't get the Tobiano gene if it gets its genetic information from the red set.

The 50% chance is referring to the fact that you have a 50% chance for either set of genes, not that you'll get a chimeric foal.

If you're looking for brindle patterns though, dun and nd1 can both give primitive markings on legs and dorsal stripes!

  • So how did ParadoxPhoenix get that foal then? I’m confused. It looks like the brindle came from the Sire.
  • Looks like just INSANELY good luck. Chimerism isn't inheritable, it's just chance.

  • Hmmm then if you want my honest opinion it shouldn’t say “Chimerism Detected - Inheritance chance 50%” That makes me think that the offspring have a 50% chance of being Chimera.
  • It looks like his first set of DNA is from his sire's first set, and his second set is from his sire's second set.

If you look at the sire's other foals, he's never produced a chimera before, and his sire has only produced four chimeras out of the 106 foals he's produced.

  • @HarmonyC the part about the inheritance chance is talking about that set of genes versus the other. So a chimeric horse has a 50% chance of throwing one set of genes and a 50% chance for the other. It's important in the game because you can change that chance depending on what you'd like them to throw.

If you have a stallion with silver brown on one set, and he looks really pretty with gray mixed in but you don't breed for gray, you can set the inheritance chance to 100% on the silver brown and 0% on the gray.

  • How on earth do you do that?
  • I honestly have never messed with it, but I would guess probably in the Gene Modification lab, or in a premium feature. I only have a basic upgrade, so I'm not 100% sure on what comes with that.

  • If you have Basic upgrade you can do it ; its on the very bottom of the GMT page; and it will step by stepp tell you ; just like any other GMT change
